Christmas Blog Hop!

*Waves hello* Hi all! If you are joining me from the Child's Play Challenges blog hop, then you are in the right place! I personally enjoy blog hopping on other blogs, so it is fun to actually be part of one myself! This blog hop was focused on presents under our tree. My daughter recently became obsessed with Cinderella and we watch the movie every single day. I can practically quote it by now! She also loves baby dolls! She already owns one of these baby dolls (Ariel) but I decided I was going to get her the Cinderella one too since that is her fave princess. So my inspiration is...
Kylee was Princess Peach from Super Mario Bros last year for Halloween, and so I thought this was the perfect picture to use! I used  Creative Scrappers #233 sketch for this page. I didn't use the traditional orange and black Halloween colors for this page, and I think that is why I like it so much! I like when I can steer away from the traditional holiday colors because I don't want all of their holiday pictures to use the same colors every year. This was the perfect inspiration and the perfectcollection (Echo Park Little Girl) for this picture!

Thanks for stopping by and don't forget to hop to the next blog and enjoy the hop!

Gingerbread House

This week at Child's Play Challenges was a craft challenge. I love crafts! This one was fun because it helped bring back the memories of my family putting together our first gingerbread house! My kid's absolutely love that tradition now! I think they like eating the candy as they decorate the house the most!

Inspiration:

I used a sketch for this one as well, but I can't remember where I got it! I saw it and mental noted and it when I went back to find it, I couldn't remember which blog I found it on! Clearly, I follow way too many scrap blogs! Ha!

Apples to Apples

This week at Child's Play Challenges was a game challenge. The game used for inspiration was Apples to Apples.

Inspiration:

I personally have never played this game, but it looks like it might be fun! I thought the front of the box made a great sketch! I really liked the big yellow circle on the box, so I just went with that! I used a sketch that I got from Scrap a Little Sketches.

My Little Pony

This week's challenge over at CPC was quite a challenge for me! The inspiration was My Little Pony. Uh oh. My baby girl doesn't even know what a My Little Pony is! As I was searching around for a picture, I ran across Kylee with a little pony tail on top of her head. I believe it was one of her first little ponies. Perfect.
I decided to really step out of my comfort zone and not be so perfect and nit picky over the papers. I actually crumpled those precious pattern papers up! Gasp! I admit, it was really tough balling up a piece of $.99 paper! But, I went ahead and took one for the team. After I crumpled the papers (Amy Tangerine sketchbook collection in case anyone was wondering) I slightly embellished and voila!

Inspiration:

My take on the inspo! I used the title "My little Pony tail!" hehe I just loved that little pony on top of her head, and I sure do miss it! Now her hair is halfway down her back and will all fit into a normal pony!

Picking Pumpkins

I am pretty sure one of our most favorite things to do is to pick pumpkins! I let my kiddos loose in that pumpkin patch and let them have a fun time! This week over at Child's Play Challenges we had the perfect inspiration this month!

Inspo:

Who doesn't love this awesome episode of Charlie Brown?! When I was younger, I watched it EVERY year! I saw this and knew it was perfect for scrapping my photos of Ryan picking a pumpkin from a few years ago. (Yes, I am THAT far behind. Gulp.)

Believe it or not, I had ZERO fall themed paper. I couldn't believe it! I had to pull from multiple collections to piece together a layout that looked "Fall-ish" or "pumpkin patch-ish." While it was a struggle to do so, I think it came together nicely! I also used a Creative Scrappers sketch for this one also. I believe it was #227!
I popped the leaves up, but it is hard to tell in the photo. You know me and dimension. ;)

Have a good day and thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to check out Child's Play Challenges and play along! :)

Art Supply Challenge

This week the amazing and talented Team A over at Child's Play Challenges was asked to create a layout with the inspiration of art supplies!
I thought this was perfect since I made Ryan his own little "classroom" at home and I had some pics of him hard at work!

Inspiration:

My page:

I started to use a sketch from Creative Scrappers but it just wasn't working for me. So, I just improvised the sketch and made it my own!
My first time using Thickers! They are a little hard to lay straight because they are so flimsy, but I managed to make it work!

Thanks for stopping by! Don't forget to join us at Child's Play for some scrapping fun! :)

Hungry Hippos

It's another week over at  Child's Play Challenges, which means a new inspiration! My team was asked to create a layout using the inspiration of the old school game Hungry Hungry Hippo.
Oh the memories I have with this game. Anyway, this was perfect timing because while we were visiting Memphis back in July, we decided to take a trip to the Memphis Zoo. (Best zoo on Earth!) Apparently it was feeding time for the hippos! I mean really, how lucky could I get?! So, of course we started snapping away to catch some awesome pictures of the hippo feeding time! This is my take on the Hungry Hungry Hippo inspiration. I used Creative Scrappers Sketch #218. I seriously love every one of their sketches!
I used Bo Bunny's Zoology collection for this one. I seriously just can't get enough of it and wished I bought more! I have so many zoo pics I want to use it on!

A quick close up shot of some of the dimension. This was also my first time using my new Sew Easy tool and it was quite a task trying to figure out how to thread the holes! I think it turned out great!

Batter Up!

A few months ago, we signed Ryan up for his first ever sport...t-ball. It was a blast! I may have enjoyed it a little more than he did, but it was fun nonetheless. This page is just a few of the pictures I snapped during the games. These are also my first Instagram photos to scrap! Love the size of the Instagram pics! I used a Creative Scrappers Sketch #219 for this one. (I know, HUGE surprise right?)
I used one of Echo Park's mini themes. LOVE the mini themes!

Beach Ballin'

First and foremost, I want to say that I am a proud member of the DESIGN TEAM over at Child's Play Challenges!!! *throws confetti and blows party horn* :D My first ever design team might I add! I am super excited and looking forward to some fun over the next 6 months! Well, my first assignment as a new design team member (never gets old saying that! :) ) was to use the inspiration: beach ball. I took this challenge quite literally and made my entire layout a beach ball. I hardly ever use the different 12X12 shapes as my background page because I find them really difficult to use. I like the boring ole square 12X12 pages! But, I  decided I was going to think outside of the box (err...ball?) on this one and just go for something outside of my comfort zone. I cut the beach ball parts(and the white background circle) with my Cameo since it will cut 12X12 size (squeal!).

Inspiration: Beach Ball

This page went together a lot better than I envisioned. Once I had the main pieces down, I just started embellishing away! I used Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss collection on this one

I pop dotted the photo to make sure it was the focus of the page. Also because I just love pop dotting everything. I also love chipboard embellishments! I mean L-O-V-E kinda love. :)

The Infamous Cozy Coupe

Over at Child's Play Challenges they are having a Classic Toy Challenge and the toy for inspiration was the Cozy Coupe! That is the absolute favorite toy in this house. Both of my kids have their very own coupe and they are different colors so they can't fight over them! Every time we are outside in the beautiful Carolina sunshine the coupes are out and rolling down the sidewalk. I am pretty sure "cozy coupe" was actually one of Kylee's first words! Not kidding.

If you don't know what a cozy coupe is, this is what one looks like:

Ours are slightly different, but they are mainly the same thing. Ours has a cute smiley face on the front with big eyes. I can't express the love my kids have for this one toy! I have TONS of pictures with them in their coupes!

I chose to scrap a pic of my baby girl Kylee in her pink and blue coupe. Her face is priceless in the photo!

I went a little simple on this one because I wanted the focus to be on the photo. I used Echo Park mixed collections for this one! How cute is my little hairless baby? She sure has a head full now!

I pop dotted the car and a few cameras that I fussy cut out of some patterned paper for a little dimension. I love dimension. I also did a little sewing on this one because I haven't sewn on a page in a while and I was starting to get the sewing twitch.

Thanks for stopping and looking at my page!

Slip and Slide

The super cool blog Child's Play Challenges is having a design team call and one of the requirements was to create layout using this toy as inspiration.

My children personally never owned one of these toys because the popping noise can drive one crazy! But, it is a cute toy and has been around for as long as I can remember. I chose to use the colors as the inspiration for my layout. As soon as I saw the red wheels, blue handle, and yellow balls, I knew I had the perfect pictures. I used Creative Scrappers sketch #205 for this layout.

First Trick or Treat Experience

A few years ago Ryan had his very first trick or treating experience. It was amazing. For me. I guess him too. :) I didn't think I could enjoy a "creepy" and "scary" holiday as much as I do! Halloween has become one of my absolute favorite holidays and I have my children to thank. If it was not for them, I don't think I would decorate my house, think of cool costumes all year, and fight the crazies at Wal-Mart for all of the 50% decor the following day. But, I do. I love every minute of it. I love October and secretly wish one of my babies were born in that month. But, we can't choose those things in life and I will enjoy my spring/summer babies.

Ryan was 2 years old when we first attempted the trick or treating thing because I wanted him to actually talk to the neighbors and say "trick or treat." Well, Ryan was a late bloomer in the language department and chose to say all of 3 words by the time he was 2. (Thankfully his birthday was in June which left us a ton of time to teach him to say "trick or treat." He managed to learn it just in time and it was the absolute cutest thing to see my Buzz Lightyear say it! He was extremely, and I mean extremely obsessed with Toy Story at the time. So, he chose to be Buzz and I talked his little friend's mother in dressing him up as Woody. Perfect. It was a perfect Halloween.

It took me forever to find the perfect papers and the perfect sketch for these pictures. I actually went outside of my comfort zone and tried a new manufacturer! I used Oct.31 by Fancy Pants Designs and I am a fan! I think I will start purchasing more of their collections!

Okay, enough chit chat on with the pics!

I got the sketch over at Creative Scrappers because their sketches are amazinggg. (Sketch #212) Here is my take on it!

The colors from this collection matched his little costume perfectly!

I attached the spider to some twine and let him just hang from his "web." It is cool that he can move around on the page and bring a sense of movement to the page; my son thought thought this was awesome!

Thanks for stopping by! :)

Found the perfect sketch

I finally found the perfect sketch for Kylee's smash cake photos! Of course, Bo Bunny just knew her first birthday was pink/teal/purple. They created the perfect collection for these photos! I used the Sweet Tooth collection for this page. I also got this sketch from Boys Rule blog, and I know I know, shes a girl BUT this layout screamed smash cake photos.

I told you it was the perfect sketch! I fussy cut the little flowers, oven mitt and mixer from a few of the pages. It is probably one of my fave things to do. I also pop dotted the flowers and oven mitt for a little dimension.

My next layout is a few pictures of my baby  boy. It is insane how fast he grew up! It makes me sad to think he will be 4 years old in 7 days! I made a page letting him know that no matter how much he grows, he will ALWAYS be my baby. I also used a sketch from Boys Rule. :)

I used the Boy's Life collection by Echo Park. LOVE this collection! The star sticker in the corner is pop dotted. I know I know, I pop dot at least one embellishment on every page. I am addicted.

I am glad that I used a few pictures on each layout because Shutterfly just HAD to email me a code for 101 free prints. (Seriously? Like I don't have enough to scrap already?!) I just couldn't pass it up. That means I have to get in gear and get some scrapping done so I will be ready for a new set of pictures! I only have over 50 too many layouts left for Kylee's first year. Yikes!

Until next time,

Bo Bunny Challenge

My absolute favorite manufacturer Bo Bunny is having a sketch challenge! I <3 sketches almost as much as I love Bo Bunny! The sketch is awesome, but I did find myself struggling with it. I think it was because I did not have two vertical pictures that went together, so I had to use one horizontal picture. But, it is a challenge after all.

Here is the sketch. Fun, right?

Here is my take on the sketch. It isn't my favorite best layout, but it is one of my favorite pics of my baby girl!
I decided to do a little doodling on this page, so here is a close up of some of the little doodles. I could not find my white gel pen *tears* so I couldn't doodle on the picture like I had planned. But, if the pen turns up I will make so to get my doodle on with the photo!

Lazy Bum

That is what I have been all week! My scrap mojo has gone out the window! :/ AH! I even got my lovely Mother's Day package in the mail this week that was full of yummy scrap goodies! I always lose my mojo when I get a nice big scrap package because I am so overwhelmed with all of the new goodness. I never know where to start! I literally have some pictures and paper on my desk just sitting there. Staring at me. Calling my name. It has been there all week. I think I want to scrap but when I attempt, my mind just blanks. I am going to post a few pages I did a week or two ago that will hopefully boost my mojo and scrap with my new stuff!

A little close up of the pop dotted clothes line. Isn't that little clothes line so adorable? I used my button pop dots method on this one too!

I believe I made this one a few weeks ago but never got around to sharing it. Her face in these pictures are priceless!
A close up of the embellies. I also did a little doodling on this page. Doodling is a lot of fun! I need to do it more often!

I am off to look for my mojo so I can put all of the new supplies  to good use!
